THE SPACE

Casa Laura is part of a grand villa which was owned by a noble family.  In its Medieval heyday, this building boasted two residential towers still evident today despite their shorter stature.  Casa Laura retains many beautiful features including original frescoes, terracotta floors, chestnut-beamed ceilings and a large southwest-facing garden.  This spacious property offers plenty of space to relax and unwind after travelling and sightseeing!

Ground floor (British) First floor (American)

KITCHEN
Step into the inviting kitchen and dining area on the ground floor, accessible from the garden and patio. The rustic charm of the fully functioning kitchen is complemented by lofty ceilings and a stylish blend of modern and antique furnishings, accented with vibrant splashes of yellow against traditional ceramic tiles. This space is perfect for cooking, dining and gathering with friends, with the added warmth of a wood-burning stove during cooler months. Ascend the trendy industrial-style staircase to the upper floor.

GARDEN STUDIO
Welcome to the Summer Studio, your spacious and sun-filled retreat with direct access to the garden from the main kitchen. Featuring charming beamed ceilings, this inviting space is perfect for group hangouts or can serve as a self-contained sleeping area for extra guests, complete with a sofa bed for 2. This will be a great space for the teenagers in your group or as a place to lounge and relax on the additional sofa.  This space has a private bathroom with a shower, wash basin and WC for added convenience and privacy.

First floor (British) - second floor (American)

THE LIVING AND LOUNGING SPACE

Ascend the narrow staircase from the kitchen to this enchanting space and step through a fresco-painted door into a breathtaking living room adorned with original frescoes, echoing tales of yesteryears. High ceilings adorned with delicate frescoes soar above and the delicate crystals of the chandelier sparkling, while large windows offer enchanting views of village gardens and distant hills beyond.  Enjoy a glass of Tuscan wine and chat on the comfy sofa or one of the two armchairs, surrounded by the timeless elegance of terracotta tiled floors. A space where history and comfort intertwine.

BEDROOM 1

Experience the charm of this pretty master bedroom, boasting a light and airy ambience with a high-frescoed ceiling and terracotta tiled paved floors. Adorned with a mix of modern art, lighting and antique furniture, this room offers a unique blend of style and history.  No need to worry about where to hang your holiday clothes as there is plenty of wardrobe and storage space. Enjoy views from two windows one over a Medieval watch tower and ancient stone pine and the other a quirky little window  which looks over the stairwell towards village gardens. This bedroom enjoys the convenience of a contemporary ensuite shower room with shower,  washbasin and WC.

BEDROOM 2

Discover Bedroom 2, a delightful space featuring a queen-size double bed and generous wardrobe storage. Lying on your bed you can admire the original frescoes adorning the ceiling, depicting peacocks, cupids and maidens, all adding a touch of romantic charm. Tucked away at the far end of the living room, this room exudes serenity. Shuttered windows offer picturesque views of village gardens and distant hills, while a beautifully tiled floor seamlessly blends into the room's theme, completing the tranquil ambience.

THE BATHROOM

Prepare to be captivated by the enchanting master bathroom, with its cool sage green interiors and charming chequerboard floor. Delicate chandeliers grace the ceiling casting a gentle glow over the space. A romantic cast iron ball and claw foot bath, sits in front of a stained glass arched window, adding a touch of elegance, suggesting relaxation and indulgence.

OUTSIDE SPACE

THE GARDEN

The large garden sits at the rear of the property and is perfectly southwest-facing.  An ancient stone pine casts its shade on the lawn and there is outside seating for lounging.  A small patio is ideally located close to the kitchen entrance and it's here where you will relax from the midday sun as this area offers shade for al fresco lunches and cosy dinners.

ACCESS

The best access is from the garden through a large iron gate.  The garden is so large you can easily park two cars inside the gates without compromising on garden space.

The property is spread between two floors and the access from the kitchen level to the bedrooms and living rooms is by an industrial-style staircase (11 steps) and then up another narrow staircase of a further 10 steps.

We do not recommend the apartment for those who have difficulty negotiating the stairs or who cannot carry their own bags up the upper level.
