We just got home from staying at Casa Colomba - what an amazing experience!! The space is stunning, spacious and to say it is well appointed is an understatement. It is easy to see that Marie & Lorenzo are completely tuned in to what travelers are looking for. The space that they renovated is an outstanding display of craftmanship and interior design, not to mention hospitality. The coffee table books and magazines about Italian culture, art and history alone, were amazing in and of themselves. The location is so very authentic, so very Tuscan and was everything we had hoped it would be!! As I laid awake at night I couldn't help but think about my mother who left Italy decades ago, as a child. Authentic, beautiful, well appointed and with every travel necessity one could ever want or need (like gigantic snowy white, cozy bath towels and fluffy, warm throws) was offered up at Casa Colomba. And if all of that was not enough, the very best part of our stay was meeting Lorenzo and Marie - talk about authentic, genuine, approachable, fun and kind people. They are true ambassadors for Vicopisano - their sincerity and pure love for their village and community is what caught our attention - we could not have asked for a better experience!! Our hearts are filled with gratitude in thanks for a memorable stay that we will never forget!! Hope to see you very soon cari amici and Buon Natale!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a beautiful and thoughtful review. Reading your words truly touched our hearts 🤍 Casa Colomba was created with the hope that guests would feel not just comfortable, but connected — to the house, to Tuscany, and to the deeper stories that live within places like Vicopisano. To know that your stay stirred memories of your mother and her Italian roots is incredibly meaningful to us. That is exactly the kind of emotional connection we hope Casa Colomba can offer. We’re so glad you appreciated the craftsmanship, the details, and those little comforts that make a stay feel special — from the books and magazines to the towels and cozy throws. But above all, meeting you and sharing our village with you was the greatest joy for us. Thank you for your kindness, your warmth, and for embracing Vicopisano the way you did. You will always be welcome here — and we truly hope to see you again very soon, cari amici. Con grande gratitudine e affetto, Marie & Lorenzo 🎄✨
Marie and Lorenzo were the most gracious of hosts, and have done such an amazing job restoring Casa Colomba, staying true to it's history while incorporating all the comforts one would want on holiday. Casa Colomba is such a beautiful and authentically Tuscan home-away-from-home. It is in the middle of a very special medieval village. The people of Vicopisano are so kind and gracious, wanting to share their village with everyone. We can't wait to return. Thank you for sharing your passions, and beautiful home with us! Grazie mille Marie and Lorenzo!
Thank you so much for your wonderful words. It means so much to us to hear how much you appreciated Casa Colomba and the care we’ve put into restoring it. Honouring the history of the house while making it comfortable for our guests has been a true labour of love, so your kindness really touches us. We’re delighted that you felt at home in our little corner of Tuscany. Vicopisano is a very special medieval village, and we’re so happy you experienced the warmth and generosity of the people here — it’s one of the things that makes this place so unique. Thank you for recognising our passions and for being such lovely guests. We would be absolutely thrilled to welcome you back again whenever you’re ready for your next Tuscan escape. Grazie mille from both of us, Marie & Lorenzo
My sister and I had the absolute pleasure of staying 5 nights at the beautiful Casa Colombia in the tuscan town of Vicopisano. On arrival we were greeted by Marie with her wonderful smile, giving my sister and I the biggest of hugs, what a greeting. In the evening Marie & Lorenzo both walked us around town showing us all the town had to offer and it has everything you needed to wonderful cafes, restaurants, gelato and an amazing bakery and many more. We had, had a very busy holiday in France and Italy and were looking to rest up regroup in an authentic tuscan town and Casa Colombo and Vicopisano didn’t disappoint. You can certainly do many wonderful activities & experiences with Marie & Lorenzo or within the surrounding villages but we just wanted to rest up, walk around the little villages, read books, eat & drink and it was a stunning location to do this. The view from the sunroom window is to die for, beautiful rolling hills, cypress trees, olive trees and beautiful blue sky’s, perfect! Thank you Marie & Lorenzo for having the insight to create such a stunning authentic tuscan retreat, our stay was perfect.
Thank you so much for your beautiful review. It was truly a pleasure to welcome you both to Casa Colombo, and I’m so glad our greeting made you feel instantly at home. Walking you around Vicopisano that first evening was such a joy — we love sharing our little town and all its hidden gems. After your busy travels through France and Italy, it makes us very happy to know that Casa Colombo and Vicopisano gave you the peace, rest and authentic Tuscan atmosphere you were hoping for. Sometimes the simplest days — strolling through the village, reading, enjoying good food and wine — are the most special, and we’re so pleased you got to experience them here. We couldn’t agree more about the view from the sunroom — it really is something magical, and we’re delighted it brought you so much pleasure. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and for your incredibly kind words. It means the world to us. We hope to welcome you back to your Tuscan home whenever you need another moment of calm and beauty. Warmest wishes, Marie & Lorenzo
I had been following Casa Colomba on social media and my husband insisted we go there. Every thing, from the start of the city tour with Marie and Lorenzo, to the cafes, restaurants, sights, and peacefulness were beyond our expectations. Marie and Lorenzo are very welcoming hosts, always willing to enhance the experience. We enjoyed Casa Colomba, it was as if we lived there and walked the streets and parks and neighborhoods with the locals! If you are looking for peace, serenity, and beauty, contact Marie and Lorenzo at Casa Colomba, Vicapisano, and make your dream come true!
Thank you so much for your beautiful words! 🌸 We’re so happy you felt at home here in Vicopisano — that’s exactly what we love to share with our guests. It was a real pleasure showing you around and seeing you embrace local life. We hope to welcome you back to Casa Colomba again one day! 💛
We spent four amazing nights at Casa Columbo in the charming village of Vicopisano. Marie and Lorenzo insured that our stay was memorable from the minute we entered their property. The apartment is very inviting and comfortable. The location is smack in the middle of the village. This location made it easy to travel to Lucca, Pisa, and Livorno for day trips. We especially loved the cafe on the corner (short walk) where we enjoyed homemade pastries every morning. The owners made us feel like locals. My goal was to experience living like an Italian in a small village, DONE! Our highlight was dinner outside on the street with Marie, Lorenzo and their friends. Also, we participated in a Pasta making class hosted by Marie & Lorenzo. It was a memorable time! He is very serious about perfection, as he shared his Nonney's methods. Thanks to both of you for our most heartfelt memories of Vicopisano.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay at Casa Colombo and that Vicopisano gave you the true “living like a local” experience you were hoping for. Sharing pastries from the café, pasta-making in the kitchen, and an evening of food and friendship on the street are some of our favourite moments too, so it means a lot that you embraced them with us. We loved having you here and are so glad you now carry a little piece of our village in your memories. We hope to welcome you back one day for more Tuscan adventures!
We have had a wonderful month staying at Casa Columba, a beautifully restored medieval property owned by Marie and Lorenzo of Authentic Tuscany. Both were incredibly kind to us during our stay in Vicopisano and were very generous with their time and knowledge of all the things to do and see both in the wider area and within the village. Everyone we met in Vicopisano was super kind and welcoming and we loved our time in this magical place. Thank you Marie & Lorenzo!
Thank you so much for your kind words! It was truly a pleasure having you at Casa Colomba, and we’re so glad you enjoyed your time in Vicopisano. It means a lot to hear that you felt welcomed by the village and appreciated the history and beauty of the area—it's a special place, and we love sharing it with guests like you. We hope to see you again someday for another magical stay! Warm wishes, Marie & Lorenzo
This was my first visit to Italy 🇮🇹 we were looking for an authentic experience in a charming village . Vicopisano exceeded our expectations ! It is an ideal location to tour the country side or head to the sea, from historic medieval towns to beautiful seaside villages all within an hour driving . Our hosts Marie and Lorenzo were absolutely incredible, from the time of booking through out our entire stay they were available to recommend authentic experiences!! We came as guests and we leave as friends . So grateful to have found this hidden gem.If you are looking to be off the beaten path this is a must visit. But 🤫 don’t tell too many people.
We had a wonderful time in the apartment of Marie and Lorenzo. When we arrived in Vicopisano, we were received very kindly by Marie. Marie was also available for questions throughout our stay. She provided us with tips on the gastronomic offer, excursions in the area and gave us background information about the history and society of Tuscany. The apartment is nicely decorated and is located in a traffic-calmed street of the fantastic small town of Vicopisano. Cars drive here only in exceptional cases. From the early evening, the street is populated by two restaurants and creates a very nice flair. From Vicopisano you can take many excursions (Pisa, Lucca, Livorno), and the beach is only 30-40 minutes' drive away.We recommend Marie and Lorenzo's apartment in particular to guests with dogs. The two are incredibly animal-loving, as the whole of Tuscany is very dog friendly.
The apartment was beautiful and well appointed and a pleasure to call home for a few days. Marie was a wonderful host who was very generous with her time and made sure we were settled and informed for a great time is Vicopisano. We enjoyed a lovely time together in the evening having a nice glass and wonderful conversation.I have no hesitation in recommending this location for a wonderful time away.Thank you so much Marie and Lorenzo
We cannot recommend Casa Colomba highly enough. The apartment itself is lovingly restored and perfectly in keeping with the beautiful historic surroundings.Discovering the delights of vicopisano and the surrounding areas was made effortless because of the incredible hosts Marie and Lorenzo who go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay at Casa Colomba to the fullest.Marie met us on arrival and gave us a quick tour of the village with some lovely insights into the history and recommendations for dinner and drinks (which were fabulous). Afterwards we had coffee at the local cafe where Marie was more than happy to share her wealth of knowledge of the area and gave us the inside info to help us get the most out of our time in Tuscany.Thank you so much Marie for being such a lovely warm host, it really did make our trip, and Thank you for being so wonderfully accommodating when our initial flight was cancelled. We very much intend to return again soon.Jane, John and Erin
